Is FLINCH free?
FLINCH is free to download with all core features included. A Pro upgrade removes ads and unlocks additional scare packs and features.
Is it safe for people with epilepsy?
No. FLINCH contains flashing lights, sudden loud audio, and startling visual content. Do not use if you have epilepsy, photosensitive conditions, or heart conditions. Please consult a medical professional if you are unsure.
Does FLINCH upload my videos?
No. All recordings stay on your device. Videos are only shared when you explicitly use the share button, which opens your device's native share sheet.
How does the scoring work?
FLINCH uses your phone's accelerometer and front camera to measure your physical reaction. Before the scare, we capture a 3-second baseline of your natural movement. After the scare, we compare your reaction against that baseline to calculate a score from 0-100. Higher score = less flinch.
