What Data We Collect

FLINCH is designed with privacy at its core. All sensor data (accelerometer, face tracking) is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

• Camera recordings: Stored locally on your device. Only shared when you explicitly choose to export or share a clip.
• Flinch scores: Stored locally on your device using on-device storage.
• Sensor data: Accelerometer and face position data is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after scoring. It is never transmitted.

Camera & Microphone Access

FLINCH requires front camera access to record your reaction during gameplay. Audio is recorded for the reaction clip. You control when recording starts (by starting a game session) and can delete any recordings at any time.

Local Storage

We use on-device storage (AsyncStorage) to persist your scores, streaks, difficulty settings, and app preferences. This data never leaves your device.

Analytics

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (e.g., number of sessions played, average scores) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.

Third-Party Services

When you share a clip, it is sent to the native share sheet on your device. FLINCH does not control how third-party platforms (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) handle your shared content.

Children's Privacy

FLINCH is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
